So what's cooking in my life right now?? Well I'm doing everything that I can in my power to make money from home to support my children as my son's health problems have forced me to.
I'm working as an independent contractor doing a little bit of everything with the skills that I have and trying to build a home business at the same time.
Then maybe later in the spring I'll be building a different type of home business where I'll be buying products wholesale and reselling them on my beauty site. I couldn't be busier and I couldn't be happier.
The latest "adventure" is to work on this house. I'd like to get a lot of painting done by summer and I'd like to start soon. I've decided to let my older two sons help by doing their own rooms. I'm gonna teach them what I know. My mother's first husband was a professional painter and she always says I paint like him - like a professional, lol.
That's because I know to spackle any spots that need spackling, I know how to sand, to prime, and to tape, etc., before actually painting!! I also know to "cut-in" before rolling. Things like that. :) So I'll be teaching my boys, which I'm actually looking forward to. I also have an adventure coming up that I'm both looking forward to and dreading at the same time.
I'd finally like to learn how to do some gardening and would like to plant some flowers and plants around my house this spring and summer. But before I can do that I have to get rid of a heck of a lot of poison sumac. Right now it's dead because it's winter, so I'm gonna use this time to "try" my best and remove it for good. I really hope I can, because it's such a nuisance during the summer.
It grows so high and sticks out over the sidewalk like it's trying to reach out and grab someone. You can't just cut it because then it gets in the air, etc. Such a pain in the arse. So I want to get rid of it now while it's cold. Along with that we have this ugly old metal fence in front of our house and a part of it has collapsed.
So I need to remove the broken part and then I might spray paint it white and plant some flowers along it. I'm a renter, so I can't just remove the whole thing. It's ugly but can be worked with, with a good spray paint! We also have a bunch of birthdays coming up. Yes, I have a lot of kids and all their birthdays seem to be back-to-back.
Only one birthday is later and that is my 16-year-old. His birthday is in July, thankfully. So in February my oldest will be 18, a week later my daughters will be three, then a few days after that another boy will be seven, and one month later another boy will be 13, then my 16-year-old will be 17 in July. Of course, we have Easter in between all of these birthdays too, and Mother's Day and Father's Day. Always something when you're a parent, lol.
Oh, and baseball season is coming up. Little league sign ups are in March. Can't wait!!! So much coming up and I'm excited. We're also getting a new car hopefully in February, but possibly March. I'm really hoping for February though. We're getting a 2012 or 2013 Chevy Suburban; my dream car... I'm a SUV kind of girl. I've always loathed minivans even though I've driven a few.
I just prefer a truck. I can't wait to be done with being without my vehicle. It's so hard relying on public transportation when you have kids. It can be done but it's hard as hell. I've learned many valuable lessons though during this time in my life without my car.
It's certainly humbling. I've been humbled many a times in my life, but I guess God felt like I had some more lessons to learn. And I feel like I've learned so much more and then some... Couldn't be happier right now. :D
1/13/14 Update: Truck has yet to come. Actually, I'm hoping to get a Chevy Traverse next month. Didn't get an ounce of painting done, grass was cut, no gardening, and have yet to start selling products for my beauty site, lol. Wishful thoughts...wishful thoughts... Every day life is just busy - in due time.
